It is a great honor to write to you as the President of the New York Society for Vascular Surgery.
A notice has recently been sent to you regarding our upcoming meeting on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. We have quite fortunate to have Dr. James Stanley as our special invited lecturer. His keynote, entitled "Vascular Surgery: Evolution of a Special Specialty or Demise of a Subordinate Subspecialty...The Importance of Hindsight", promises to be a most provocative and important one. As one of our most prominent and vocal leaders, we are sure to be enlightened by him. Please invite your interested Residents and Fellows to our meeting as it will be a great opportunity to meet the members of the vascular community as well as to meet and hear Dr. Stanley’s address.
We are also calling for research proposals from Residents and Fellows for the Gore Research Prize. This most prestigious award will be presented at the Spring meeting. The call for abstracts and the program for the meeting is attached as a link on this website.
I also would like you to consider for membership any of your colleagues you feel would add to the quality of our Society. Attached to the website, you can find an Application form.
Thank you for the support you have shown our Society, and I am looking forward to seeing you on the 21st of May for what should be a very exciting evening.
Sincerely,
Alan I. Benvenisty, M.D.
